About Macy Grathwol M.S.Ed CCC-SLP

Hello! I'm Macy Grathwol, the owner and speech-language pathologist of My Speech Pocket, LLC. I am an ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) certified and Virginia-licensed pediatric SLP.

I provide my clients and their families accessible tools and strategies to improve their communication skills and interpersonal relationships. My style of therapy works best when families take an active role in their child's speech therapy sessions and implement daily home carryover.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University in 2012 and my Master of Science in Education from Old Dominion University in 2014. My clinical experience ranges from inpatient rehab to pediatric outpatient clinics and public schools. 

I have completed extensive training and continuing education in the areas of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (Unity, LAMP, DynaVox), Autism (delayed echolalia, Natural Language Acquisition), Apraxia/Motor Speech Disorders (DTTC), and Early Language Therapy. My therapy approach focuses on incorporating family and client goals and interests in order to achieve functional communication skills and improve quality of life.
